A Business of Details - Exporting a California Specialty Crop

Companies that are new to exporting and companies that have previously considered and abandoned an exporting plan can use A Business of Details to get up to speed on terminology, processes, common pitfalls and strategies for success. This training video follows a shipment of Romaine Lettuce from a packing facility in Salinas, CA to its destination in Taiwan.

This project is funded by the California Department of Food and Agriculture’s Specialty Crop Block Grant Program, and is presented by the California Centers for International Trade Development at State Center Community College District.

Navigating Food Export Regulations and Documentation

This webinar provides an overview of how and where to locate product and country-specific information for export compliance for food and agricultural products. You will learn that depending on the product and the market the requirements, documents and resources may vary. It includes step-by-step “click though” versions of web-based databases on Food and Agricultural Import Regulations and Standards, also known as “FAIRS” reporting. It also details how to access state and federal resources for export certification requirements, also known as “CERTS”. An overview of commercial export documentation will also be provided.
